ABOUT THE SCOIL NA LEANAÍ TASTER | August 10th to 11th 2020

 

Please note that we are planning this Taster based on currently available Government Guidelines and its intention to have the country fully open by the end of July. Should any Government Guidelines / Regulations change or new ones be introduced that prohibit the Taster then we will have to adjust accordingly.

 

The 24 hour Taster will include the following:

 

  • two to three sample classes covering some of the subjects on the primary school curriculum, through the medium of Irish
  • 3 to 4 hours of structured indoor activities including Irish dancing, singing, playing instruments, arts and crafts and / or board games
  • 3 to 4 hours of structured outdoor activities on the sports fields, around the grounds and / or on the beach (weather dependent)
  • up to 2 hours in the dining room (including lunch, dinner, supper, breakfast and snacks before departure)
  • 10 hours in the dormitories

 

What children should bring / have / not have with them:

 

  • all bed linen and pillows will be provided
  • children should wear comfortable shoes and clothing, suitable for indoor and outdoor activities
  • rainwear including a hood / hat
  • have a spare set of clothing
  • a wash bag with basic items to support an overnight away from home
  • not have money, mobile phones or other digital devices (contact can be made with / by children through the office as necessary)
  • not have food / drinks / chewing gum with them as other children may have specific allergies etc. All food and drinks will be provided by the Coláiste’s catering team

 

Arrival and Departure times:

 

Children, their parents / guardians are welcome on campus from 11.00 am to 12 noon on Monday August 10th, 2020. Parents / guardians are asked to collect their children between 11.00 am and noon on Tuesday, August 11th, 2020.
